SPLASH ZONE

Incase you missed it: Here’s what went down at 99.7’s Summer Splash! The ultimate summer party, this year’s show was packed with some of your favorite artists, plenty of music to get you WET and most importantly, your favorite On-Air personalities from the NOW familia! I went backstage to get the juiciest gossip directly from the Splash Zone itself, check it out!

1. The United States of Bonnie Definitely one of my new favorites, Bonnie McKeen graced the Summer Splash stage performing her #1 (Twitter Music Charts) hit “American Girl”. Along with her hot-blooded new single, McKee also sang a cover-medley consisting of songs she worked on for other artists, including: Katy Perry, Ke$ha, and Tao Cruiz, to name a few. Donned in a leopard leotard, leather jacket reminiscent of Gaga’s “Telephone” video, and a liberty-spiked snapback- it took every fiber of my being not to jump up and hug her out of sheer fashion envy! Despite criticisms of improper vocal technique, I was lucky enough to sample her pipes during soundcheck and the-girl-can-SING! McKee’s powerhouse voice, catchy lyrics, and ability to deliver LIVE guarantees her place in Lala Land– not to mention all those awesome friends…

2. Ariana Grande
From her musical theatre origins, to her Mariah Carey whistle tone, Grande proves big things really do come in 24 inched-waist packages. A total sweetheart, Grande performed “The Way”, dressed in a bejeweled white corset-tutu straight from my fantasy closet. Showing pretty girls can have a little street cred, Grande spit Mac Miller’s rap, later taking the time to pose for pics with fans and a few familiar faces!

3. Four Times the Trouble!

The girls (and even some guys) swooned and screamed for the three bad boys of the night when Kalin and Myles took the stage, and later, Sammy Adams. All took the “cas attire” route, dressing in tanks, tees, and shorts- or a variation of the three. However, clothing was obviously optional, as girls could be heard shrieking “take it off!” in the crowd.

Then there was Becky G, who also showed talent knows no boundaries when it comes to size. Little Miss Thing 2013, Becky performed a four song set, including the crowd favorite, “Becky From the Block”. Keeping it fun and classy in a neon green tummy-shirt and tights, the lil mama dipped, rolled, and werked the stage- properly reppin’ her hometown of INGLEWOOOD!

4. So Glad You Came
OHEMGEE! I just about died when I met The Wanted and saw them perform. Funny, sexy, stylish, and super nice, these guys were getting everyone from Letty B. to St. John hot-n-bothered in all the right places!

Instagram filters and red-eye aside (which was actually my happiness shining through), these guys are the ish! They performed a full- 30 minute set including: “Glad You Came”, “Playing With Lightning”, and my personal favorite, “I Found You”. Also, incase you were wondering, Siva’s cheekbones are that amazing and yes, he is my husband…he just doesn’t know it. Kaythxbye!
