2012 was nice, but shortly we’ll be putting it to bed. Time to start looking forward to the great music of 2013! Here’s a quick preview of what’s coming out and what we know about it so far.

Lady GagaARTPOP
No release date announced

Gaga has been sparse on the details about ARTPOP, announcing only the album title and some vague ideas about the concept behind it. We do know she’s working with her longtime production partner RedOne, as well as EDM artist Zedd, DJ White Shadow and her Born This Way Tour music director Fernando Garibay.

Selena Gomez & the Scene – Album Title TBA
March 2013

Forget her on again/off again bf Bieber. Selena is heading to the studio to make some new music. The big news was broken on Twitter by Ryan Seacrest while the two were in Texas, opening up Seacrest Studios in the Children’s Medical Center of Dallas. Selena’s been on a musical hiatus since January 2012, so her return is very, very long awaited.

Phoenix – Album Title TBA
April 2013

Everyone’s favorite French band are slated to release their first new album since 2009’s breakout Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. Details are scant, but the band did take to Twitter for a little teaser in December.

AkonStadium
March 2013

We haven’t heard from Akon in HOW LONG? It was 2006? He better be coming back with a banger then, right? Don’t you worry — he’s got David Guetta, RedOne, will.i.am, Calvin Harris, Dr. Luke, Afrojack and The-Dream on this one. Among many others. If he can’t manage to make your booty shake with all the EDM help in the world then we’ve spiraled off into an alternate universe.

ParamoreParamore
April 9, 2013

Ready to rock? So is Paramore’s Hayley Williams.

Jessie J – Album Title TBA
No release date announced

There’s a lot up in the air on this one, but Jessie J has been Tweeting up a storm about going to L.A. to write songs. As it happened, that’s where she went to write her first big hit for Miley Cyrus, “Party In The U.S.A.” — so get your expectations up!

Jessie announced on Twitter that she moved her expected February 2013 tour back because the album won’t be ready yet.

The WantedThird Strike
March 2013

Can you believe this is the first album from the Wanted that will see a U.S. release? The guys teased us with an EP in 2012 and now they’re coming out. Nathan and Tom have been steadily Tweeting about hitting the studio and writing songs, but very little info has been leaked on who they’re working with. Hmmm.

Darius RuckerTrue Believers
January 22, 2013

Darius has a brand new country album! Get a little taste.

50 CentStreet King Immortal
February 28, 2013

You can find him in the club…or you can find him in the record store. 50 already premiered his debut single, featuring Adam Levine, on The Voice. So get a preview!

Mariah Carey – Album Title TBA
No release date announced

Here’s what we know: this will be good, old fashioned style Mariah. She’s pairing up again with Jermaine Dupri and L.A. Reid. This will also be some new style Mariah making hits, as she’s pairing up with producers/songwriters Jeff Bhasker (Kanye West) and Benny Blanco (Katy Perry, Ke$ha). She released “Triumphant (Get ‘Em)” earlier in 2012 but with the big lag and all the names attached, we’re thinking MiMi decided to give the album an overhaul before final release.
